Project Launch ACT! Ivate to establish the Alliance of Caribbean Telecentres (ACT!)

Taigüey Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the project ACT! ivate. The project ACT! ivate aims to establish mechanisms and initially maintain bases and mechanisms of the Alliance of Caribbean Telecentres ((ACT!). The latter is defined as a regional forum for exchange between telecentres and OLLABORATION Caribbean.'s project is initiated with the support of the program telecentre.org a joint initiative of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC-Canada), the Swiss Cooperation Department and Microsoft Corporation . The concept was defined in a process after the first Caribbean Telecentres Workshop , held in the Dominican Republic in July 2006 (see). During the workshop, some 70 operators / as and telecentres and actors / actresses key 15 Caribbean countries, identified the main challenges faced by their Community Telecenters projects, and explored what solutions and / joint actions could be done.
