Visit the American Foundation (IAF) in preparation for the next Trans-supported agriculture.

Subject to final approval of the Congress of the United States, the Inter-American Foundation (FIA) Foundation approved a grant for the project Taigüey TRANSAGRO , particularly to provide training and technical assistance from the group of women from the community of La Cienaga, Barahona , which has been organized to establish the Cooperative Development of La Ciénaga (COODECI). This June 17 were visiting Jenny Petrow, in charge of the FIA for the region, his assistant and Sandra Logan Theresa Lafontaine, verification of data.
With an estimated 40 members, COODECI proposes to employ about 20 women in the management and daily operations of the cooperative, which will focus on buying fruit from local farmers for further processing into value added products such as jam and jelly, and specialized markets in the country
