Now! At last! The Women's Cooperative sold its first products Swamp processed

One afternoon in 2003, Vicky and two young graduates of a course of community leaders, sat with a group of community leaders / ace, talking about how to take p'alante Swamp community. That day was concluded with the need for ideas while at the same time to generate income, protect the environment, developing entrepreneurship, management and organization, and the need to integrate women in the community in paid work to improve health and education. Today, after almost 6 years later, having made the project TRANSGAGRO and gained support from several agencies (PPS.pnud, FIA, Ibbi etc.) and implemented two years, the Women's Cooperative of Cienaga, COOpDECI, was present on 6 and June 7 at the FestiCafe 2009, stage for the first hint of the market and bitter orange marmalade "In my seeding" produced with fruit from the shadow of the coffee of our hills.
The first production of the products "In my seeding" even without the final appearance care (labeling etc.) had very good acceptance among the public, highlighting among others, both for its flavor and aroma, as its presentation and innovation include and combine tropical fruits are not available in the market. Soursop jam being the most acclaimed and requested. In the tent, in addition to sell jams and orange tart My Sow, were exhibited and sold handicrafts made by the cooperative. Our tent was decorated by paintings by l @ s @ s Niñ Elementary School of La Cienega, the creativity workshop conducted by the Foundation Taiguey to mark the International Day of the Earth.
The promotion and sales team of COODECI for the fair consisted of Mayra Polo Happy, Bethania Carvajal, Medina and Max Erinalda Feliz. The FestiCafe is held every year in Polo, Barahona, by the Cooperative of Coffee Growers, to celebrate the coffee harvest and sale in international fair trade markets.
